Beyonce announces new album “Renaissance”

The countdown is on.

Beyoncé rocked social media overnight when she announced that her next album, Renaissance, would be released on July 29.

The highly anticipated news was shared in a tweet from the music streaming platform Tidal, for which Queen Bey’s husband, Jay-Z, helped put himself on the map in 2015.

This will be Beyoncé’s seventh studio album as a solo artist. It includes 16 songs and appears to be a double album, as the tweet describes “Renaissance” as “Act I”.

Last week, eagle-eyed fans noticed that the 40-year-old singer’s social media platforms had been deleted after photos of her profile were removed from her YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and TikTok pages, indicating that she prepares to announce a new era.

The 28-time Grammy winner teased in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar last year that new music was on the way, saying “I feel like a renaissance is coming”, which is obviously the key to the album’s title.

“With all the isolation and injustice of the past year, I think we are all ready to run away, to travel, to love and to laugh again,” she told the magazine at the time.

“I feel a renaissance is coming and I want to be a part of nurturing this escape in every way possible.”

Beyoncé briefly described her creative process, saying that her albums often take a long time to come to life.

“Still, there’s nothing like the amount of love, passion and healing I feel in a recording studio,” she added. “After 31 years, I feel just as exciting as when I was 9 years old. Yes, the music is coming. “

Ever since she released her 2016 album Lemonade, the Sorry singer has partnered with 52-year-old Jay-Z on their 2018 joint album Everything Is Love.

In 2019, she released “Homecoming”, a live album that gave fans a backstage pass to her iconic set Coachella.

She continued to participate in the soundtrack of the latest version of Disney for “The Lion King”.

In 2020, she released another visual album, entitled “The Lion King: The Gift”, which was inspired by the plot of the film.

Beyoncé’s catalog also includes “Dangerously in Love” from 2003, “B’Day” from 2006 and her smashing online album of the same name from 2013.
