Biden fell after getting off the bike, but unharmed

REHOBOT BEACH, Del., June 18 (Reuters) – US President Joe Biden spilled his motorcycle on Saturday as he stopped greeting his supporters over a weekend trip to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

He looked unharmed as soon as he stood up. “I’m fine,” Biden, 79, told reporters after the crash. “I caught up with my legs,” he said.

The president, who wore a bicycle helmet, said the toes on his bicycle had to be removed after his foot got caught before it could stabilize.

Biden and First Lady Jill Biden completed a morning bike ride in the Lake Gordons area on the shores of Delaware. On Friday, they celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary.

The White House said the president did not need medical help.

“As the president said, his foot hit the pedal when he got off, and he’s fine,” said a White House official, who declined to be named. “The president is looking forward to spending the rest of the day with his family.”

Asked how he felt as he left the church later Saturday, Biden made a series of jumps before getting into his car.
