A police investigation has been launched after a man’s body was found in a fire in a suburban park in west London.
Police were called to Bellevue Park in Northholt shortly after 4:37 a.m. Monday by the London Fire Department after public calls.
The Ealing police account on Twitter said: “Officers are working to identify the deceased, who is believed to be a man at this stage, and are informing relatives.
The death has been described as unexplained as investigators try to determine the cause of the fire. There are no arrests. A cordon remains at the scene.
A firefighter in London said she was called to Rowdell Road Park at 4.19am. It is stated that the incident was declared closed at 4.56 in the morning. The causes of the fire are being clarified by the fire and metropolitan police.
Aisha Raza, a member of the cabinet of the Elling Council for Tackling Inequality, which is responsible for fighting crime, said the news of the incident came as a shock to the area.
She said: “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the deceased. We don’t know much about what happened. We need to let the police continue their investigations so we can know what to do next.
She described the area around Belvue Park as suburban and “a nice area in general”. She added: “Everyone is doing well. They are all from different backgrounds and different communities. And overall, we all get along pretty well. ”
Chris Summers, Labor counsel for Northolt Mandeville, which includes Belvue Park, said: “I’m horrified to hear about this incident. My thoughts are with the family of the dead. And I’m sure the whole community will be shocked by that. We believe that the police will get to the bottom of what happened. “
He said the area where the park is located is not linked to crime.
In 2011, Adeniyi Shode, of Edgware, was stabbed to death near Belvue Park in an unsolved murder believed to be related to a drug deal.
