Sinn Fein’s Michelle O’Neill welcomes ‘new era’ in Northern Ireland after victory
The British Deputy Prime Minister said that stability in Northern Ireland was “threatened” by problems with its post-Brexit agreement following the historic success of the Sinn Féin elections.
The DUP unionist will refuse to serve with the Republican Party in the executive branch, which shares power, unless there are major changes to the NI protocol.
Dominique Raab told Sky News: “From the dynamics we are seeing now, it is clear that we will not reach this position of stability unless and until it is adjusted.
In Westminster, Boris Johnson plans to announce new laws that will “fulfill the Brexit promise” as he seeks to recover from the shaky set of results for the Tory party.
The British prime minister said he would unveil the “super seven” Brexit bills that would cut red tape and “unnecessary barriers inherited from the EU” in the queen’s speech next week.

But …
Lisa Nandi of Labor said Conservative ministers’ attacks on Keir Starmer in connection with the so-called Beergate saga were “frankly absurd and quite desperate”.
She will not say whether Starmer should resign if he is fined for eating home. “I will not enter into a hypothesis because I do not believe for a moment that he has broken the rules,” the shadow secretary told the BBC’s Sunday Morning.
Ms. Nandi said: “It’s absurd to equate serial parties, lies and laughter … and a business event that people stop eating.
She added: “It’s a game. This is a game in which the Conservative Party is in real trouble – they and their cheerleaders are throwing mud in the media in an increasingly desperate attempt to get some of it to cling to its political opponents. “

Plan for revitalization of urban centers
One of the Brexit bills is to try to revive struggling urban centers.
It will include a plan to clear the main streets of “abandoned windows” and restore the neighborhood’s pride, giving councils additional powers to force landlords to rent out empty shops.
Other measures will include the possibility of paving cafes, which emerged during the Covid-19 pandemic, becoming a permanent part of the city center landscape.
