A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was found dead six days after an attack in central Manchester.
David Oberth was attacked on Bloom Street in Gay Village in the early hours of June 2. The 59-year-old man was taken to hospital, but was later discharged on his own.
Four days later, worried family members reported him missing. Mr Ober was found dead at around 11am on Wednesday (June 8th).

Detectives launched a murder investigation and released video surveillance of a man they wanted to talk to. In an update released today (Monday), police said a man has already been arrested on suspicion of murder.
He surrendered to officials after filing a video surveillance appeal yesterday. He remains in custody for questioning.
A tweet posted by Greater Manchester Police said: “#ARREST After a video surveillance appeal we sent yesterday after a man died after an attack in #Munchester earlier this month, a 27-year-old man turned himself in custody this morning and was arrested on suspicion of murder.
“He remains in custody. Thank you for sharing our call!”
The incident was referred to the GMP Professional Standards Branch, which referred him to the Independent Police Conduct Service. As a tribute, Mr. Ober’s family said: “Dave was a calm, nice man who was well known in the local area and was often seen riding his bicycle around.
“He had a caring character, no bad bones in his body and was very popular with everyone who knew him. He liked his routine, was determined in his way, and happy and content with his destiny.
“He had no worries in the world and lived his life without hurting anyone else. Dave’s death in such tragic circumstances had a devastating effect on all who knew him and left his three brothers with the heartbreaking task of learning to live without him. “
