Britney Spears’ ex-husband Kevin Federline claims her father’s conservatism SAVED her

Britney Spears’ ex-husband Kevin Federline claims her father Jamie’s 13-year guardianship saved her after she was finally freed from the controversial settlement last year.

In a world-exclusive TV interview that broke his decade-long silence on their marriage, the dancer claimed Jamie came to him admitting she “didn’t know what to do” about her daughter’s personal problems in 2008.

Kevin, who was married to Britney from 2004 to 2007, also revealed in the bombshell interview that the singer’s two sons Sean Preston, 16, and Jaden, 15, have not seen their mother in months.

In the interview, parts of which will air on ITV News this week, Kevin was asked about Jamie’s decision to take control of Britney’s finances through surveillance in 2008.

He explained that her father came to him at the time, visibly concerned for her well-being, saying: “Jamie Spears actually came to me and said, ‘I don’t know what to do, I want to help.’

“I saw a man who really cared and wanted everything to be okay.”

Asked if he thought Jamie might have saved his daughter Britney, Kevin replied: “I 100% feel like he saved her then.”

Speaking out: Kevin Federline (pictured with Britney at a Grammys afterparty) has broken almost a decade of silence about their marriage in a touching TV interview

And following Kevin’s comments that Britney’s two sons have decided they don’t wish to see her, his lawyer doubled down, noting that they miss their grandfather Jamie.

Mark Vincent Kaplan, who represents Federline, argued that while the teenagers were more interested in spending time with their grandfather, he noted that a domestic violence restraining order still kept them apart.

Britney herself took to Instagram on Saturday night to hit back at Kevin, lamenting: “I am saddened to hear that my ex-husband has decided to discuss the relationship between me and my children.”

She added in her post about Sean Preston, 16, and Jaden James, 15: “I gave them everything.”

“As we all know, raising teenagers is never easy for anyone. It worries me that the reason is based on my Instagram. It was WAY before Instagram.’

She continued: “One word: Hurtful… I’ll say it… My mom told me ‘you have to GIVE them to their dad’… I’m sharing this because I can!!!’

Britney ended the short post by adding, “Have a nice day people!!!”

In a breathless follow-up post on her main page, she wrote: “In addition to what I said in my story… As their stepmother says, ‘whatever happens outside of this home has nothing to do with his home’ .. .

“I would like to share the DOOR [door emoji] outside is a sign for the WHITE GATES they kept me from for 15 years … the conservatorship ended in just 8 months !!!!’

She continued: “Being able to have money FROM THE OUTSIDE world for the first time is EXTREMELY REVELING [light bulb emoji] …. are we equal ??? As in an even tie???’

Outrage: Britney herself took to Instagram on Saturday night to hit back at Kevin

Speaking her mind: The hitmaker had more to say later on Saturday night in a post that appeared to defend her nude photos while noting the long-lasting effects of her conservatism

Free at last: Britney added she was ‘controlled and watched for almost 15 years’ under her tutelage and said she was ‘not at all surprised by their behavior’

She appeared to defend some of her nude Instagram posts, while noting that the influence of her conservatism is still being felt.

“We remind you that the trauma and insults that come with fame and this business affect not only me, but also my children !!! I’m just human and I’ve done my best … I’d honestly like to share my TWO CENTS !!!! I dare Federline to watch the BIG BOOTY VIDEO [peach emoji] !!! Other artists have done much worse when their children were extremely young!!!!’

Britney added that she was “controlled and monitored for almost 15 years” under her tutelage.

“I needed permission just to take Tylenol!!! I need to start doing WAAAY more than going topless on the beach like a baby!!!! I’m not surprised that just as my family has done their share of interviews, they will too,” she continued.

“I am not at all surprised by their behavior and their approach to what I had to deal with!!!” she concluded, although her purpose was not clear.

During the interview, revealed exclusively by the Mail On Sunday at the weekend, Kevin also revealed that Preston and Jaden have not seen their mother for many months – of their own accord – despite his ex-wife, who married Sam Asghari, 28 June bought a £10 million mansion not far from the Federline family’s home in Los Angeles.

Opinion: Kevin insisted Britney’s two boys love their mum despite choosing to take some time out from seeing her (Pictured: Jaden with Kevin’s daughter Peyton)

Britney recently married Sam Asghari in a secret wedding (pictured together) that was attended by Selena Gomez, Madonna and Paris Hilton. Her sons were not present

“The guys decided they couldn’t see her right now,” Kevin reveals. “It’s been a few months since they’ve seen her.” They decided not to go to her wedding.

Britney was finally released from her supervision, which controlled many aspects of her financial and personal life, last November. But the impact her public trials may have on their teenage sons is now Kevin’s driving force.

“This whole thing was hard to watch, harder to experience, harder to watch my boys through than anything else,” he says. “It was hard. This is the most challenging thing I have ever had to do in my life.

And there have been numerous parenting challenges during the ongoing saga with Britney.

After being released from conservatorship last year, the 40-year-old star remained in the global spotlight and began posting nude selfies on social media.

All grown up: Britney’s sons (Jaden, left, while Preston, right) appeared in an Instagram post in late 2021 with Kevin’s boyfriend Eddie Morales (center)

At the time, Kevin says he felt obligated to apologize to the boys for all the trouble they went through as a result.

He insists the boys love their mother, saying, “I try to explain to them, ‘Look, maybe this is just another way she’s trying to express herself.'” But that doesn’t take away from the fact of what it’s doing to them. It’s hard.” He adds: ‘I can’t imagine what it’s like to be a teenager who has to go to high school.’

Although he and the boys have nothing but compassion for Britney, Kevin says he’s speaking out about his estranged ex-wife not for retribution, but to show a never-before-told side of this showbiz story.

Today, the 44-year-old father’s life is a world away from the frenetic chaos of his romance with a woman who went from Disney child star to global superstar. He lives quietly with his sons and his wife of nine years, Victoria, an accomplished former volleyball player.

History: Kevin is pictured with Britney Spears at the Grammys in February 2006, the couple married in 2004.

Sweet-natured, artistic boys, Preston and Jaden have clearly inherited their parents’ creative streaks: Preston has already started producing music and wants to take guitar lessons, while Jaden is an avid pianist. Kevin and Victoria have encouraged all their children to express themselves.

Theirs is a blended family: Kevin and Victoria also have daughters Jordan, 11, and Peyton, 8, while Kevin’s eldest children – Corey, 20, and Caleb, 18, from his previous relationship with actress Shar Jackson – are frequent visitors.

All six siblings are close. Kevin jokes that they are like the famous American sitcom family The Brady Bunch, with cameras filming them celebrating Caleb and Cory’s birthday with a cake in the garden and the boys diving in and out of the pool.

The endless drama and controversy that Britney always seems to be at the center of seems a world away, just like Kevin and Victoria want.

“It’s a normal home, a family … full of love,” Victoria tells me. “Whatever happens outside has nothing to do with this home.”

But they say allowing the cameras into their home now could help Kevin’s ex-wife understand the strain that growing up in the shadow of a global superstar can bring.

Kevin says: “If there was a way – any way – I could say something to just open up [Britney’s] eyes – but I haven’t found that yet. I have a feeling if I find this out I’ll be on the phone trying to tell her.

Kevin, who grew up in Fresno, California, will be the first to admit that he himself is no stranger to controversy.
