Brookside and Coronation Street actor James Carroll has reportedly died.
The actor was best known to soap fans for his role as Brian ‘Bumper’ Humphreys in Brookside from 1988 to 1991.
James’ last acting appearance was on Corornation Street in January, where he played an actor named Bob vs. Mary Taylor (Patty Clare).

According to The Sun, James suffered from a pneumonia attack in 2020, but has fully recovered.
The publication also reports that the actor lived with a terminal condition, which means that the arteries in his brain can burst at any time.
His death – believed to be sudden – was announced by several friends in a number of social media posts on Thursday.
He previously made a documentary on YouTube in 2009 about his illness, where he appeared with his wife Justin and their children.

In the film, he said: “I’m with Justin now, what – almost 13 years. Justin and I have been having so much fun for 13 years.
“It’s hard to think about the worries that I’m not here, because you know, without meeting Justin and without having boys, I’m thinking about those 13 years.
“If I died tomorrow, I would be a happy person. I would not be upstairs wherever I was, I would not be upset because in my life, experience and things like that I had so much fun and so much love and good moments.
In addition to his acting career, James was a member of the duo 2 Toned, where many of his friends paid tribute after the news of his death.
A colleague from the group wrote: “My heart is broken. My amazing friend, mentor and brother James Carol Jimmy unfortunately died.
Honor: James was a member of the band 2 Toned, and his bandmate wrote: “My heart is broken. My amazing friend, mentor and brother James Carol Jimmy has sadly passed away. ”
Another user wrote: “We are saddened by the sad loss of a very wonderful man whom we have been blessed to know so well.”
“Jimmy and I had a great show and we had 12 great years and over 850 shows across the country and we met and entertained thousands of wonderful people, many of whom we now call friends.”
He added: “The time on stage was sensational, but the quality time spent traveling, laughing, crying, joking and, of course, singing and just being a huge part of everyone else’s life is something
“I will always remember and keep until the end of my days. I love you, Jim, good night until we meet again, my dearest friend, have fun, it’s later than you think.
Another user wrote: “We are saddened by the sad loss of a very wonderful man whom we have been blessed to know so well. Our thoughts are with Justin and family, but also with you, Alan Taylor, and your family. Heaven has acquired such a wonderful angel. RIP Jim, so many people will miss you.
