Mass shooting of a buffalo: 10 reported dead while police investigate a manifesto

Ten people are dead and a suspect in custody after a gunman in a rifle and bulletproof vest opened fire at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, on May 14, believed to be one of the deadliest racist massacres in recent American history. and the deadliest mass shooting in the United States in 2022.

The shooting took place at Tops Friendly Market in block 1200 on Jefferson Avenue in the second largest city in the state, in a predominantly black neighborhood, which authorities believe the suspect was specifically targeted. A total of thirteen people were shot. Among the victims are 11 Blacks.

Close-up footage from a video of Saturday’s attack, which police say was shot by the shooter himself, shows the letter N and the number 14 – a known white race code – written on the barrel of a white paint gun.

The manifesto was found online in connection with 18-year-old suspect Peyton Hendron, who cites racist and white nationalist imagery and far-right conspiracy theories.

President Joe Biden will visit Buffalo on Tuesday to “mourn” the community.

A Buffalo man has been arrested and charged with making a terrorist threat against two businesses after a mass shooting in the city.

The Erie County Attorney’s Office claims that Joseph S. Chovanets threatened the pizzeria on Delaware Avenue in Buffalo and a brewery in the city center.

Investigators say the 52-year-old man called the two businesses on Sunday afternoon and made threats, citing a shooting at the city’s Tops Friendly Markets that killed 10 people and injured three others.

Mr Chowaniec faces up to seven years in prison if convicted.

The radio call reveals the first aid alarm

ICYMI: Radio calls between dispatchers and first aid workers at the scene of the Buffalo’s Tops Friendly Market incident over the weekend revealed their concern about finding bodies in the supermarket.

According to an audio report received by Buffalo News on Sunday, a police officer informed dispatchers to warn homicide detectives because “We have bodies down here.”

The call came after police were dispatched to the scene at 2:31 p.m. to establish an active shooting and immediately told dispatchers, “Radio, send as many cars as possible.”

The shots were still fired by the suspected gunman, 18-year-old Peyton Hendron, while more police cars were sent to the city’s Jefferson Avenue store.

ICYMI: The parents of 18-year-old Buffalo shooting suspect Peyton Hendron were interviewed by FBI agents over the weekend, police said.

On Sunday, Buffalo Police Commissioner Joseph Gramagia said investigators, including FBI agents and New York soldiers, were at Mr Gendron’s family home interviewing his parents.

Although details remain few and far between, Mr Gramaglia said Mr Gendron’s parents had cooperated with the authorities.

The police commissioner also believes that they are “absolutely insane and devastated” by the arrest of their son in connection with the shooting of Tops Friendly Market on Saturday, Fox News reported.

Police believe the suspected shooter acted alone when he shot dead 10 people at a supermarket in Buffalo, about 200 miles from his home in Conklin, New York.
