Buffalo shooting massacre update: Peyton Hendron pleads not guilty to 10 murders after “pure evil” supermarket attack

Mass shooting of a buffalo: 10 reported dead while police investigate a manifesto

Buffalo, New York, police said 10 people had died and the suspect was in custody after an armed man with a rifle and bulletproof vest opened fire at a supermarket in the city.

The shooting took place in Tops in block 1200 on Jefferson Avenue.

“It was pure evil,” Eri County Sheriff John Garcia told a news conference on Saturday. “It was a racially motivated hate crime by someone outside our community.

Peyton Hendron of Broome County, New York, was convicted and charged with first-degree murder on Saturday, for which he pleaded not guilty.

In addition to the 10 who were killed, a group including a retired Buffalo police officer working as a security guard, three others suffered non-fatal injuries.

Investigators are investigating whether the alleged shooter broadcast the massacre live and published an online manifesto of the white race.

The suspect is an 18-year-old white man who comes from another county in New York State, officials said.

Local, state and federal officials said they were monitoring the situation and helping with the investigation.
