C Station Crime Targeting CPS, Transit Officers

A four-day police and transit crackdown on crime and public order at Calgary’s CTrain stations resulted in drug seizures, hundreds of tickets and prevented four overdoses.

The operation, involving members of the Calgary Police Service and Calgary Transit officers, targeted criminal activity on both LRT lines in all quadrants of the city.

According to CPS officials, the initiative resulted in:

  • 327 warrants in process of execution;
  • 216 subpoenas served;
  • 86 criminal charges filed;
  • Four overdoses prevented;
  • Three missing found;
  • The recovery of two stolen bicycles; and,
  • Seizure of crack cocaine, fentanyl; methamphetamine, gabapentin, psilocybin, and ketamine.

The estimated street value of the illicit drugs is $30,000.

“Everyone deserves the right to feel safe while using public transportation in our city,” said CPS Insp. Scott Todd. “Through our efforts, we have charged many people, issued several hundred tickets, and been able to get a significant amount of drugs off our streets.”

Anyone who witnesses criminal activity on CTrain lines is encouraged to contact the CPS non-emergency line at 403-266-1234.
