New Hampshire police investigating the undisclosed deaths of a retired couple said Thursday they wanted to talk to the owner or operator of a car parked near a hiking trail where the bodies of the victims were found in April.
New Hampshire Attorney General John M. Formela and Concord Police Chief Bradley Osgood released photos of a dark green Toyota RAV4 from 2006 to 2012 that was parked near March Loop in Concord on April 18, the day Stephen Reed 67, and his wife, 66-year-old Jesvende “Wendy” Reed, was last seen alive.
Authorities stressed that the person who owned or drove the car was not a suspect in the case, but investigators could not wait to talk to them about what they may have seen on the tracks that day.
The Marsh Loop is part of the Broken Ground Trails system, where the couple’s bodies were found on April 21, a day after relatives reported their disappearance, police said.
Stephen Reed, 67, and Jesvende Reed, 66, were found shot dead on a sidewalk in Concord, New York, on Thursday, April 21, 2022.

The FBI has joined the investigation and is offering a $ 33,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the person or persons responsible for the killings.
An autopsy revealed that both had been shot several times.
The development comes about three weeks after authorities released a sketch of a man described as a person of interest. The man was seen near the site of Reid’s disappearance, officials said.
A spokesman for the New Hampshire Department of Justice, which released the sketch, told ABC News on Thursday that the person of interest was not found.
Investigators are seeking to identify and talk to the owner and / or operator of the vehicle believed to have been used to kill Reids.

During a press conference Thursday afternoon, Formela said there was no link between the person of interest and the vehicle wanted in the case. The person concerned is not currently a suspect in the case, he said.
The Reed family left their home at the Alton Woods apartment complex in Concord at around 2:22 p.m. on April 18 and went for a walk in the Broken Ground Trails area, Formela and Osgood said in a joint statement Thursday.
The couple was reported missing on April 20, when Stephen Reed did not appear at a planned event, authorities said. Their bodies were found a day later, officials said.
The couple’s homicide investigators and children, Lindsay and Brian Reed, have asked the public to report any information that could help uncover the case.
The couple’s family issued a statement after the killings, describing Stephen and Wendy Reed as kindred spirits who travel the world and share “mutual love of adventure and fitness.”
The Reed family moved to Concord about three years ago when Stephen Reed, who grew up there, retired from more than 30 years as an international development specialist working on humanitarian projects around the world through USAID, their family said. The couple met while West African Wendy Reed was studying in Washington, D.C., on an athletic scholarship, the family said.
