Cardiff is in high demand as emergency services descend the Taff River

Emergency services are searching the Taff River in Cardiff as the main response to the incident.

Firefighters, police and paramedics were called around 4.30pm on Tuesday in the Whitchurch and Llandaff North areas, with social media reporting a strong presence of emergency services on Ty-Mawr Road and Heol Don. A helicopter of the National Police from St. Athan searches the river in this area. One witness said the path by the river was closed in Landaf North.

“Large police presence in Landaf North and Whitchurch tonight,” tweeted Cardiff Council of Culture, Parks and Events Council member Jennifer Burke-Davis at 6:11 p.m. She added that she expected more details.
