Understandably, the consortium led by LA Dodgers co-owner Todd Bowley has been identified as the preferred bidder for Chelsea’s purchase by sanctioned owner Roman Abramovich.

Chelsea are on loan, says MP Nadine Doris

The consortium led by Todd Boelli, which is leading the race to buy Chelsea, has about a week to sign a purchase agreement if they want to beat the richest man in Britain by acquiring the club.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe made a dramatically belated offer to buy the club from Roman Abramovich on Friday when he submitted a £ 4.25 billion offer. His offer has been and will continue to be taken seriously.

But the Boehly group has been told it has been given the status of preferred bidder by the Raine Group, the commercial bankers involved in selling the club. And now they have a short period, which is considered to be one week, to get to the point where a purchase agreement can be signed and a deal signed.

Ratcliffe’s proposal intensified pressure on the LA Dodgers co-owner and his friends, and the fact that it is understood that they bypassed the Rhine entirely to deal with Chelsea President Bruce Buck is clearly a conviction on the part of Ineos Supremo that he is not managed to leave his course too late.

“We presented an offer this morning,” Ratcliffe explained. “We are the only British offer. Our motive is just to try to create a very good club in London. We have no motive to win because we earn our money in other ways.”

A statement from Ratcliffe said: “We believe that a club is bigger than its owners, who are temporary custodians of a great tradition. Responsible to fans and the community. That is why we are committed to spending £ 1.75 billion over 10 years, which will be to the direct benefit of the club.

“We will invest in Stamford Bridge to turn it into a world-class stadium suitable for Chelsea FC. This will be organic and continuous, so that we do not move away from Chelsea’s home and risk losing the support of loyal fans.

“We will continue to invest in the team to ensure that we have a first-class team of the world’s greatest players, coaches and support staff in men’s and women’s matches.

“And we hope to continue to invest in the academy to enable talented young people to develop into first-class players.”

Sir Jim Ratcliffe made a belated offer for Chelsea

But Boehly and Co are confident they can decide things in their favor and stay in the pole position to complete the buyout. Chelsea need the sale to be completed by the end of May, after Abramovich was sanctioned by the UK government on March 10 after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Culture Secretary Nadine Doris warned this week that Chelsea was “busy” and had to finalize the takeover “within weeks”. Speaking to the BBC, Doris said: “There is a very short window left for this sale to take place.

“As you know, Chelsea are being sold and the sanctions are being applied, so those sanctions are still in effect at the time of the sale. But what I’m going to say is that Chelsea have a lot of loan time right now.” And when asked how quickly the sale will have to be completed, she answered “within weeks”.
