When former Fox News presenter Chris Wallace appeared in a CNN report on the committee’s first hearing on Jan. 6 earlier this month, he drew the anger of some viewers for expressing deep “skepticism” about their ability to change everyone’s mind about Donald Trump.

On Thursday morning, ahead of a session expected to include testimony from senior Justice officials, Wallace appeared on CNN to assess a new poll from 2024, which shows that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is ahead of Trump among the probable Republicans of primary voters in New Hampshire.
In response to sociologist Frank Lunz, who described the poll as a sign that at least some conservative voters wanted to “continue” with Trump, Wallace said “this could be the biggest impact” of the Jan. 6 hearings. it just increases Trump’s fatigue. “

If these voters are “looking for an alternative to Trump,” Wallace added, then DeSantis “could be a pretty good choice.”
And while Wallace doesn’t think Trump has anything seriously to worry about in a poll that showed him two points less than two years after the election, he said “the dirtiest word in Trump’s lexicon” is “loser.” .
“Despite what he said, he was a loser for Joe Biden,” Wallace said, referring to the 2020 election. “Now he may be a loser for a second time.” If Trump enters 2024 with a real chance of losing early primary states like New Hampshire, Wallace asked, “Will there be a stomach for that?”
