Coast Guard units searched the Mississippi River on Saturday for three missing children.
WWL-TV reported that a 15-year-old boy, a 14-year-old girl and an 8-year-old girl were spotted entering the water on Saturday night in Algeria’s historic New Orleans district on the West Bank of the Mississippi River.

Units involved in the search include a New Orleans Coast Guard helicopter crew MH-65 Dolphin, two New Orleans Maritime Safety and Security Guards, a Cutter Sawfish Coast Guard crew and a Coast Guard boat crew. New Orleans.

Police and the New Orleans Fire Department are also assisting in the search.
Fox 8 Live reported that the New Orleans Regional Transit Office has closed the Canal Street / Algiers ferry amid demand. The ferry had to work long hours to accommodate large crowds attending the French Quarter Festival, but as crews searched the water, shuttles instead carried guides between the east and west coasts.
