The commission announced on Tuesday morning that its hearing scheduled for Wednesday was postponed, but conflicting explanations were offered as to why.
Representative Zoe Lofgren, D-Calif., Told Capitol Hill reporters after the commission’s announcement that there was no problem with witnesses in moving the hearing, but “technical problems.”
“These are just technical issues. I mean, we were, you know, the staff who collected all the videos, you know, doing 1-2-3 was overwhelming, so we’re trying to give them a little space,” she said. . “It’s not a big deal.”

Appearing earlier on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, she said that “collecting video exhibits is a grueling exercise for our very small video staff … it’s just too much to put together.”

But when asked later if Lofgren’s explanation for the postponement of the hearing was correct, a committee member said no.
The aide said the hearing was “postponed to meet scheduling requirements”.
The committee soon issued a statement stating: “The postponement is due to a number of timing factors, including a timetable for the production and availability of members and witnesses.”
The focus of the hearing was on then-President Donald Trump’s campaign to put pressure on the Justice Department to support his false allegations of election fraud.
