Councils plan warm rooms for people who can’t afford heating during winter energy price crisis

Municipalities plan to create “warm rooms” where residents can go in the winter if they can’t afford heating with rising energy bills.

Martin Lewis asked on social media whether “warm banks” – similar to food banks but for people in need of heating – would be needed this year.

The founder of MoneySavingExpert pointed to libraries or other public buildings as examples of places that could be used.
