The committee’s Democratic campaign, which works to elect Democrats supporting the election in state legislatures across the country, has spoken out against the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn federal abortion protections, saying it will work with state-elected Democrats who will “drive voters out” for the by-elections.

In a statement shared with Fox News Digital, Gabriel Chu, vice president of communications for the Democratic Legislative Campaign (DLCC), insisted that Americans were “alarmed” by the court’s decision and state-level Republican politicians who “declare an open season for our fundamental rights. “

“The outdated, politically transparent court decision deprives women of the right to control their own bodies and will lead to unnecessary death,” Chu said. “This decision cares for a super-vocal, extreme minority, not for the eight out of 10 Americans who support the legal right to abortion, while opening the door to attacks on the right to contraception and equality in marriage.

“Americans across the political spectrum are concerned that the Supreme Court and Republicans in the state legislature are announcing an open season for our fundamental rights. The State Democrats will respond to this attack on our freedom to decide if and when to have a family by bringing out a large number of voters this November. “

The court’s decision to annul the protections granted in the remarkable 1973 judgment. Roe v. Wade, now gives states the opportunity to decide whether to legalize the procedure within their respective limits. The decision in the case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization came more than a month after an expired draft opinion from Judge Samuel Alito suggested that the court would overturn federal abortion protection.

Other national campaign commissions, including the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC), also warn of the effects of the decision on the midterm elections.

“Today’s decision drastically escalates the stakes in the 2022 election, and we make sure Americans have the tools they need to channel their anger,” said Christie Roberts, executive director of the DSCC. “This organizational work on the ground will help select Democrats who will fight to protect women’s right to make their own health decisions and ensure that the Republican Party’s brutal program makes abortion illegal and punishes women. is the front and center for voters on the battlefields of the Senate. “

DEMOCRATS TO MAKE ABORTION MANAGEMENT CENTRAL FOR THE 2022 PERIODS, REPUBLICANTS INVITE VOTERS TO FOCUS ON AND

Tim Persico, DCCC’s executive director, said the stakes for the November election “could not be higher”.

“MAGA Republicans are focused on controlling people’s lives, imposing their opposite ideology on everyone, and imprisoning people who disagree with them,” Persico said. “This organizing campaign will give outraged voters a way to help elect Democrats who support the election, which is the last line of defense against the Republican plan to ban abortion across the country.

Speaking after the Supreme Court ruling, President Biden said voters needed to elect more democratic politicians to enshrine protection against abortion in federal law.
