Over the next two days, photos will appear showing that Boris Johnson “apparently lied” to police and the House of Commons for Downing Street parties, according to former Assistant Prime Minister Dominic Cummings.
Mr Cummings predicted that the photos would be released by factions involved in the №10 battles, as the official report by senior government official Sue Gray was finally published.
And he claims that an unannounced party took place on the evening of Mr. Johnson’s 56th birthday in June 2020, after the presentation of the cake for which the Prime Minister and his wife Carrie were fined.
Gray’s much-delayed report is expected to include some of the more than 300 photos she collected in her investigation into the 10 blockade events, but sources close to the investigation suggest they will not be used to “name” and shame ”people engaged in partying.
However, Mr Cummings suggested that the report could serve as a trigger for the release of photos by people in the system who fear Mr Johnson could escape the scandal unscathed after receiving just a £ 50 fine. from the police.
In his blog, Mr Johnson’s former adviser said that divisions were opening up between officials in office during the 2020 and 2021 parties and others, who arrived more as part of a “reset” in response to Partygate.
“Some of those in key positions have now or recently tried to blame other officials,” Mr Cummings said.
“These officials believe that some of those in key positions have now behaved terribly and are preparing to take action.
“One of the consequences is that I expect photos of the prime minister to appear very quickly, within the next 24-48 hours.
“Any reasonable person who looks at some of these photos will only be able to conclude that the prime minister has obviously lied to the municipalities and probably the cops and there is no reasonable story about how others were fined for event X, but not him.
Mr Cummings said the 126 fines handed down by the capital’s police investigation to parties went mainly to junior officials and especially young women.
Some were told to attend events such as the infamous Bring Your Own Alcohol Garden Party in 2020, or were confident steps had been taken to ensure the gatherings were legal, he said.
Asked why Mr Johnson had not received more fines, Mr Cummings said: “It’s not because the prime minister’s presence is questionable: many officials have told cops he was at an X or Y event, that cops have determined “Illegally” and gave the cops pictures so the cops knew he was there.
“Part of the reason is that for some events the police simply did not investigate, did not ask him about X or Y.”
“In addition, some people told police (but not Sue Gray because they did not want the prime minister to read their testimony) that they had evidence of organizing illegal events from the apartment.
“Apart from the ‘cake ambush’, there was a separate birthday party, revealed by the media so far, I think that same evening (which almost no one knew about at the time, including me). There is a paper trail, including WhatsApps from the apartment. Sounds very bad for Boris / Carrie, doesn’t it? Surely this needs to be investigated? No! The police just ignored him. Just! PM cleared! ”
Using his nickname for Mr. Johnson as the “cart” – because of his claims that it rotates uncontrollably – Cummings said: “The cart trying the usual SW1 trick – blames young women, many of whom have saved many lives by forcing him to change idiotic decisions.
“Secretaries are told to go to what they are told is a legitimate event by their boss, they are fined. Trolley attending and responsible for the event? He is not fined!
“The main problem is NOT for junior (often heroic) employees to say goodbye to colleagues with whom they sat in the same office. This is Trolley, who imposes a second huge cover-up (after his illegal donations) and lies to parliament about his own crimes and tries to bend the cabinet / cops to help cover up.
A spokesman for the prime minister declined to comment on Mr Cummings’ allegations.
