Drew Barrymore couldn’t help but remember his charming 1998 film “Ever After” as he pondered the wedding of singer and girlfriend Britney Spears.
“What I learned from Ever After is that we have to save ourselves and still want the story. And that’s exactly what Britney did! ”The 47-year-old Barrymore shared on Instagram on Friday night with footage from the event, including one of the hosts of the talk show, sandwiched between the bride and his guest, Selena Gomez.
“I can’t help but be happier than her fearless journey !!!!!!!”, she concluded before telling in detail about her vision for the occasion, including a Valentino couture chocolate dress.
Spears’ journey to the altar was a long one, as her previous mentorship prevented her from marrying or having children.
After the termination of her mentor, Spears flourished in her relationship with her new husband, Sam Asgari.
In addition to Barrymore and Gomez, the exclusive soiree was attended by Madonna, Paris Hilton and Donatella Versace, who designed Spears’ dress for her fabulous wedding.

However, Spears’ estranged parents, Jamie Spears and Lynn Spears, and her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, were not there – nor were her sons, Sean Preston, 16, and Jaden James, 15.

Her brother Brian Spears was reportedly invited, but did not appear to be present.
The 40-year-old pop star and 28-year-old Asgari got engaged in September 2021 after almost five years of relationship.
