Former presenter Eamon Holmes shared the news with fans on Twitter this morning after fears he hadn’t appeared on his breakfast show in the past week.

Eamon Holmes was forced to take a break from his presentation at GB News to undergo “unexpected” hospital treatment.
The 62-year-old shared the news with fans on Twitter after fears that he had not appeared on his breakfast show in the past week.
He wrote on the social media website: “Hello everyone, many of you are asking why I did not present GB News last week.
“Unfortunately, due to recurrence [sic] from a long-term back condition, I had to go through some unexpected hospital treatment and now I follow the doctor’s orders, taking a short break.
“However, I look forward to returning to Isabel, my co-host and friend of Breakfast, next week. Although I joined GB News only six months ago, the whole team and our amazing audience showed me tremendous support, which was highly appreciated.

“Now I need some time with my family to heal and recover. See you soon, Eamon.
Among those wishing him success was his job at GB News, who wrote on his Twitter account: “We hope you feel better soon @EamonnHolmes! We send love and best wishes from all of us here at GB News. “
Co-star Anna Riley also wished him success, writing: “I hope you feel better soon, Eamon, and I look forward to bringing you back for breakfast!”
While Julia Hartley-Brewer commented: “I hope you feel better soon. X”

Eamon has spoken openly in the past about his chronic pain, which often makes him struggle with insomnia.
Last year, Eamonn was diagnosed with a pelvic sprain after months of relentless agony.
At one point, while hosting this morning with his wife Ruth, he failed to return in time because the pain became too great.
He arrived a few minutes later with a cane and continued to talk to members of the public about their own experiences of chronic pain.
Ruth said: “Now many of you who follow Eamonn on social media will know that he talks a lot about chronic pain.
“The irony is that he’s not here because he had to touch the toilet. It takes him so long to walk, so he just comes back. Now it takes him longer to walk.”
He told viewers earlier in the show that the pain gave him sleepless nights.
