Elon Musk’s transsexual daughter has applied for a change of name in line with her new gender identity and because “I no longer live and do not want to be related to my biological father in any way, form or form.”
A petition for both a name change and a new birth certificate reflecting her new gender identity was filed with the Los Angeles County Supreme Court in Santa Monica in April. This has recently appeared in reports in some online media.
Former Xavier Alexander Musk, who recently turned 18, the age of consent in California, asked the court to change her gender recognition from male to female and register her new name, according to court documents available online through PlainSite.org.
Her new name was edited in the online document. Her mother is Justin Wilson, who divorced Musk in 2008.
There was no further explanation for the rift between Musk’s daughter and her father, the boss of Tesla and SpaceX, who is trying to take over the social media platform Twitter for $ 44 billion.
Neither a lawyer representing Musk nor Tesla’s media office responded immediately to Reuters emails asking for comment Monday.
In May, about a month after the name and gender reassignment document was submitted, Musk declared his support for the Republican Party, whose elected representatives support a package of legislation that will restrict the rights of transgender people in states across the country.
Musk considered the issue of transgender people choosing their favorite pronouns, tweeting in 2020: “I absolutely support trance, but all these pronouns are an aesthetic nightmare.”
