Police investigating reports of an armed entity in the Emory University area, Emory students were advised to take shelter on the spot.
ATLANA – Police are investigating reports of an armed entity near the campuses of Emory University and Druid Hills High School.
Emory officials made it clear around 2:30 p.m., after asking students to take shelter on site while staff worked to clear campus buildings following reports from an on-campus gunman.

The university sent a signal on Twitter shortly after 11:30 a.m. Thursday, saying there was an active shooter on campus. They later removed this tweet and tweeted that there was probably an armed entity in the area and no active shooter on campus.
Emory students were advised to take shelter on site.
NewsChopper 2 was above Druid Hills High School across the street from campus, where there was a large police presence. It seems that the students are leaving school.
Emory Alert Police are on site at Druid Hills HS. A possible armed entity at the Emory Campus Asylum is on site.

A parent from Druid Hills said Channel 2 investigative reporter Justin Gray that students that the campus is closed at 10 a.m.
Druid Hills officials said the school was blocked at 10:40 a.m. out of caution due to an “unsafe situation.”
“The lock is not the result of an active situation,” officials said.
The lock was lifted and school activities resumed shortly after noon
Officers from the Decalb County Police Department and the DeCalb County Police Department are still investigating.
Shuttles on Emory’s campus have been suspended until police action in Druid Hills is allowed.
