England vs. Netherlands: International Women’s Friendly Match – Live! | Women’s football

82 minutes: Hemp is done and wrapped in cotton wool to give Paris a few minutes to terrorize the Dutch on the left.

80 minutes: This is the first time England have lagged behind in the Wigman era and they have shown that they can react, which is good.

78 minutes: The team in orange plays total football. On this occasion, however, this team is England.

76 minutes: What a difference half an hour makes. England went from a struggle to create chances for the Dutch goal.

GOAL! England 4-1 Netherlands (Hemp, 74)

Hemp, perhaps England’s best player, sent a volley into the corner for the first time after an unconvincing defense by the Dutch.

GOAL! England 3-1 Netherlands (Town, 72)

The changes have contributed very well to England, providing a lot of pace and energy to the flat team. Towne collects a pass from Hemp, cuts inside and bends the ball to the back post. There isn’t much speed for this shot, but Van Veenendaal misjudges it and passes it through his hands in the corner. What a roar.

70 minutes: Walsh launches an attack from the edge of his own field, dribbling beyond several Dutch players. Eventually the ball reached Rousseau in the penalty area, it twisted and turned, but its shot was deflected to the side.

68 minutes: The Leeds Daily fan moves from the left back to take the ball in the middle of the field, she plays fast one or two and lets fly from 30 yards – hoping to score on Eland Road – but it goes well.

A moment later, Hemp almost recreated the second goal with a fine cross to the back post, which Mead pushed towards the door, but Van Venendaal blocked and cleared before Rousseau could enter and score.

66 minutes: The Netherlands returns the ball to England in their third defense, Hamp controls it, but its cross is poor and comes out for a goal kick.

64 minutes: There is a Mexican wave …

62 minutes: The Dutch seem to have given up the press – they must be tired. Miedema is included, Brugts too.

Stanway, Rousseau and Tuun join the party for England. Greenwood, England and Kirby.

59 minutes: England look more confident going forward now; the transition is faster and the ideas are more inventive. Kirby and Hamp combine to create several positions in the penalty area, ending with a blocked shot by Mead.

57 minutes: The Netherlands gets two corners in a quick sequence, but Beth England and then Earps do their best to limit the danger.

55 minutes: It was a stupid minute or something. Spitz is still frustrated and fights Kirby by taking her down.

GOAL! England 2-1 Netherlands (Mead, 53)

Ninety seconds after the missed penalty, England leads. Hamp rushes down to the left and sends a perfect cross to the back post so Mead can go home at close range.

50 minutes: Penalty for the Netherlands.

49 minutes: Greenwood clears Van de Donk in the penalty area, but the referee does not give anything. It looks like a penalty … and VAR is probably about to overturn the decision.

47 minutes: Hemp enters from the left and aims, but her shot is deflected in Mead’s path; the submarine tries to control the ball on her thigh, only to see her bounce to hit her neck.

Van de Donk and Dijkstra play for the Netherlands.

The second half

It’s starting again!

Beth Mead is in Kelly’s place for England.

Will England seek to make a change upwards? England have no service all night and are fighting for the central role, replacing White, who has Covid. How can Wigman change it?

I suspect that most of the updates in the second half will be related to substitutions.

I don’t think she meant that …

Half time: England 1-1 Netherlands

I’m not sure Wigman learned too much from the first 45 minutes. Kirby looked brilliant behind the striker when she caught the ball and the game from behind against a team that could press was not very successful. England are lucky to be equalized thanks to the coincidence of Bronze. I guess we’ll see changes soon.

45 minutes: Added two minutes.

44 minutes: Van Weendal badly controls a back pass from his own goal line to excite the crowd, but it restores the situation without noise. Half time slows down to rest.

42 minutes: Bright gives Beerenstein a push from behind near the middle of the line to ensure that the Dutch cannot counteract.

40 minutes: I’m not sure Beth England still had a touch …

38 minutes: Martens is on deck holding his ankle. It will not want to risk something so close to the euro.
