Charles Löckler says losing Monaco’s GP would be a “bad move”
Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc has secured a pole position with an incredible lap in Saturday’s Formula One qualifying session and will aim to end a sensational home victory in the Monaco Grand Prix this afternoon. The jumping horse was in the front row with Leclerc’s teammate Carlos Sainz, second to Sergio Perez of Red Bull, although the pair clashed at the end of qualifying after Red Bull crashed into the barriers.
The current world champion and leader in the title race, Max Verstappen, managed to finish only fourth, after he struggled to get the most out of his car on the famous street chain. Leclerc is six points behind Verstappen in the standings and has a great opportunity to jump ahead of the Dutchman, as the pole vault is vital to the race due to the lack of opportunities to overtake around the track.
McLaren’s Land Norris is battling fifth in the grid ahead of Mercedes’ George Russell, who is once again ahead of seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, who will start in eighth.
