Police now say the released photos of two suspects who helped a British Columbia inmate escape pre-trial detention are images from the Internet.
“Investigators can now confirm that the previously released images of associates of Rabih Alkhalil are stock images that do not represent the suspects themselves,” said Const. Deanna Lowe.
“The suspects who helped Alkhalil escape are believed to look a lot like the photos they left, but these images are not them.”

Rabih Alkhalil escaped from the Fraser North Pretrial Center on Thursday, July 21, 2022. Police said two suspects helped Alkhalil escape by posing as or being hired as contractors. The three left in a white Econoline van and left west on Kingsway Ave.

Mounties said they believe they have located the getaway vehicle.

Alkhalil is still at large and police said he is extremely dangerous.
He is charged with first-degree murder in connection with the 2012 slaying of gangster Sandip Durhe at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Center.
Police describe Alkhalil as a 35-year-old man, five feet ten inches tall, 166 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes.
