Fire crews called to deal with a barn fire in Hailsham

PEOPLE have been advised to keep their windows and doors closed while firefighters deal with the barn fire.

Three fire engines and a water tanker were called to the scene of the fire in Harebeating Lane in Hailsham.

A large plume of smoke billowed from the blaze, with nearby residents advised to keep their doors and windows closed until the smoke cleared.

Flames could be seen rising from the barn, with fire crews donning breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze.
