A former child star of BC had plans to drive to Ottawa and assassinate Prime Minister Justin Trudeau after he killed his mother in April 2020.
Details were revealed in court on Monday during the first day of the 24-year-old former actor Ryan Grantham’s sentencing hearing.
In March, Grantham pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the murder of his mother.
Barbara Waite was found dead at her home in Squamish on April 1, 2020.
Police visited the Government Road home to inspect the welfare.

In court on Monday, Crown read the agreed statement of facts, according to which Grantham shot his mother in the back of the head while she was playing the piano.

He then loaded his car the next day with weapons, ammunition, Molotov cocktails, camping supplies and a map to Rideau Cottage in Ottawa, where Trudeau lives.
The documents say that Grantham spoke about Trudeau’s murder to the police when he was arrested, and writes about it in his diary.
In the days before his mother’s death, Grantham recorded himself on camera as if he were going through a murder, and in another he described what had happened. The video was shown in court.

The court heard that Grantham was heading east, but only reached Hope.

He then turned and considered killing people at random on the Lions Gate Bridge or at Simon Fraser University.
Grantham then drove to Vancouver, but turned himself in to police.

Grantim last appeared on the BC TV show, filmed by CW Riverdale, and has a long list of credits, including The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnasus, Supernatural and iZombie.
The second-degree murder carries an automatic life sentence with no chance of parole for 10 years.
