GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Investigators are searching for the man who opened fire in downtown Grand Rapids, leaving four people with gunshot wounds.
It happened around 1:30 a.m. near the Grand Woods Lounge on Cesar E. Chavez Ave. and Oakes St. SW.
A witness tells FOX 17 that a fight broke out near the intersection. Shortly after, the witness said that a man pulled out a high-powered gun and started shooting.

Grand Rapids Police Chief Eric Winstrom said four people were shot. Three are male. One is female. One is in critical condition. Police said three of the victim’s injuries were non-life threatening.
UPDATE: 4 injured, 3 men and 1 woman. All were taken to hospital, one is in critical condition.

Roads in the immediate vicinity were blocked while investigators worked at the scene. Roads were reopened at 7:30 a.m. Sunday.
FOX 17 crews on the scene spotted more than 50 evidence markers in the area overnight.
An Uber driver was waiting to pick someone up when his vehicle was hit.

“I was going to get a ride down there and the road was blocked so I turned around and parked there in front of the place and pulled over,” said Ride share driver Jerry Deci.
Desi says he saw the fight break out. He said it wasn’t long before shots were fired from across the street and “bullets were flying everywhere.”
“These two young kids just walked into it. First they fought on the hood of the car in front of me, then they rolled on the ground and fought. Then this guy comes out behind the car and just opens up. He shot right in front of me. I’m only 10-12 feet away from where he’s doing all this.

Police say there were officers who heard the shooting because they were working a traffic accident a block away.
