Gareth Bale is said to have agreed to join the Major League Football League for Los Angeles on an initial one-year contract when his contract with Real Madrid expires.
The five-time Champions League winner will soon be a free agent and looking for a new club before playing for Wales at the World Cup in Qatar, which starts in November.
Bale, 32, was linked with a move to his home club Cardiff at the end of his nine-year stint at Real Madrid, but now appears set to continue his career with a move to the United States.
Although there is no official comment from LAFC yet, the MLS club had posted a mysterious message on Twitter, which seems to irritate an upcoming message by writing “Any guesses?” To a GIF showing LAFC’s international mail.
Last week, Bale thrilled Cardiff fans by visiting the club’s base in the Glamorgan Valley on their first day of pre-season training. The Welsh captain has fueled speculation that he may prefer to be closer to home, after comments that the standard of football he plays before the World Cup should not be the deciding factor for any move.
Of course, Bale had several table options, with his former club Tottenham and Newcastle at high cost also being offered as potential destinations.
Speaking during a recent international service with Wales, Bale said: “I don’t really know if the standard makes too much of a difference. A football game is a football game. I have the feeling that I will never lose my quality on the ball. I guess a conversation needs to take place. I need time to think about what is the best move for me, my family, my children and I hope to solve this in the summer. I have options. ”
Bale’s move to MLS is expected to include the option to extend his contract by 18 months and he will see him join former Italy captain Giorgio Chiellini as part of the LAFC team.
