‘Getting ready for Kyrgios’ John McEnroe stunned as Novak Djokovic pulls off tweener lob | Tennis | sport

Kyrgios has almost made it his trademark to try something audacious in every match these days, and thin or underarm serves are a regular occurrence. The 27-year-old awaits the winner from Djokovic and Norry and the Brit took an early lead.

Neither player was at his best in the early rounds, but Djokovic was notably below his usual standards. Known as one of the best service returners in the history of the game, he converted just 65 percent of his service returns in the first set.

The 20-time major champion was also landing just over 50 percent of his first serves and winning just 20 percent of his second serve points. Norry soon made the No.1 seed pay in the fifth game, breaking Djokovic again, and he got the double break to everyone’s surprise on Center Court in the seventh.

Djokovic struggled to trouble Norrie on his serve with several unforced errors and the Brit wrapped up the first set in just over 30 minutes.
