Ginny Thomas says she “can’t wait” to talk to the committee on January 6, the deadline

Ginny Thomas, a conservative political activist and the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, received an official letter from Congressional Commission of Inquiry yesterday, Jan. 6, requesting an interview, according to MSNBC.

A reported copy of the letter, published online, reads: “The elected committee has received evidence that [Trump lawyer] John Eastman is working to develop alternative ballot papers to stop the January 6 election count.… The Electoral Committee has received evidence that you had some communication with John Eastman during this time. We believe that you may have information about John Eastman’s plans and activities related to our communication.

The Washington Post reported yesterday that the commission received an email on Jan. 6 between Trump Eastman’s lawyer – who once served as Judge Thomas – and Ginny Thomas, who reportedly pressured other White House officials to cancel the election.

“I can’t wait to clear up the misconceptions. I look forward to speaking with them, “Thomas told the conservative Daily Caller newspaper yesterday, according to Reuters.

The letter sent to Thomas reportedly set out a series of potential dates for her interview with the committee, including July 6, 7, 8 and 11. The hearings are broadcast live on most television networks and cable news outlets.

Eastman denied ever having a conversation with “Ginny or possibly issues that will go to court” with Ginny Thomas or her husband.

“I can definitely confirm that at no time have I discussed with Ms. Thomas or Judge Thomas any issues pending or likely to go to court,” Eastman said. “We have never participated in such discussions, we would not participate in such discussions and we did not do so in December 2020 or at any other time.”
