The survey also reveals the top and worst rated operations in the Wakefield borough.
The latest GP Patient Survey, produced by Ipsos on behalf of NHS England, asked people across the country what they thought of their local GP practice.
Of those who responded, 72% said they had a good overall experience, down from 83% last year and 82% the year before.
An Ipsos spokesman said: “During the pandemic, public attitudes towards the NHS were very positive and there was some evidence of a ‘thankfulness bias’ with patients adjusting expectations about care at a time when the NHS was under pressure. However, according to recent results, satisfaction with primary care has declined significantly.
The survey covered 2.5 million people between January 10 and April 11 this year. Just under 720,000 forms were returned, representing a 29% response rate.

Practices are ranked by the percentage of people who rate their overall experience as very good or fairly good/very bad or fairly bad.
At The Grange Medical Center in Hemsworth, 58% of people who responded to the survey rated their overall experience as good. 26% rate it as bad. The rest rated neither.
At The Surgery on Stuart Road, Pontefract, 55% of people who answered the survey rated their overall experience as good. 24% rate it as bad. The rest rated neither.
At Tieve Tara Medical Center in Parkdale, Airedale, 60% of people who responded to the survey rated their overall experience as good. 23% rate it as bad. The rest rated neither.
At The Friarwood Surgery in Pontefract, 68% of people who responded to the survey rated their overall experience as good. 22% as poor. The rest rated neither.
