Hailey Bieber has an important message for Canada Day.
The model, who just launched her new skincare line Rhode, took to her Instagram Story on Friday to share a photo of herself and her husband, singer Justin Bieber. In the photo, the pair stare into each other’s eyes as Justin lies on a yoga mat with Hailey on top of him. Haley captioned the photo, “Happy Canada Day! Kiss a Canadian if you know what’s good 4 u,” along with a Canadian flag and heart-eyed emoticons.
While Hailey grew up in New York, Justin is from Stratford, Ontario. The two now have a house in the city of Waterloo, where they spent much of the COVID-19 lockdown, as well as a residence in Los Angeles.
The couple, who wed legally in 2018 before hosting their star-studded wedding in South Carolina the following year, have recently gone through their share of challenges. In March, Haley suffered a transient ischemic attack, which some call a mini-stroke. She then had surgery to close a patent foramen ovale (PFO), which is a small opening in the heart.

In an Instagram video she posted weeks after the ordeal, she said: “I was just really nervous a lot of the time about having another TIA or experiencing these symptoms again. I was getting really bad anxiety and my anxiety was making me feel funny, it was making my fingers and hands go numb and it was just really hard all the time.’
Justin also struggles with his own health issues. In June, he postponed his Justice World Tour dates indefinitely after being diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt, a neurological disorder that left half his face paralyzed. In a video explaining the situation to his followers, he said: “Apparently my body is telling me I need to taper off.”
Through it all, however, the couple remains each other’s support system. At a concert in March, shortly after concerns about Hailey’s health, the “Anyone” singer told the crowd: “Most of you probably know or have seen the news about my wife… but she’s fine, she’s good, she’s strong . It was scary, you know, it was really scary. But I know for sure that God has her in the palm of His hand and that is a good thing.
Hailey told Good Morning America in June that the “silver lining” of the couple’s recent stress is that it has brought them “a lot closer.”
“You go through this together, you’re there for each other, you support each other,” she said at the time. “There’s just something that really connects you during those times.”
