During the time it took for Earth to complete a spin on its axis, the gaming community came out in full force and split the recently launched Portal: Companion Collection for Nintendo Switch.
The first discovery came from the self-proclaimed “Switch tinkerer” OatmealDome. In this case, the moderator was able to reveal some of the content of Half-Life 2, hidden in the files of Portal: Companion Collection.

“The whole of Half-Life 2 (excluding cards and music) is on ROM,” they wrote on Twitter. “Probably based on the NVIDIA Shield port, with a little Xbox 360 sprinkled inside.”
They continue to add: “I should also note that at least some remnants of Half-Life 2 are expected in the ROM, given that Portal 1 is simply a sophisticated mod of Half-Life 2. Given that with that in mind, there are a lot of files that shouldn’t be here (specific to HL2 models, NPCs, voice clips, etc.). “
After this discovery, they successfully managed to get Half-Life 2 to launch on their Nintendo Switch, as OatmealDome said, “the game works … Sometimes it crashes, some maps are impossible to progress, NPC animations are buggy, they don’t work and the world’s cameras are placed at the wrong coordinates. ”

Ossy Flawol has discovered what seems to have never been seen before the beta content of Portal 2, hidden in the date of Portal: Companion Collection. This includes levels, an early version of the end of the game plus developer tools, as Ossy Flawol is still hoping to find more.

Yesterday’s Nintendo Direct, which launched the Portal: Companion Collection, highlighted a number of third-party games coming to the Nintendo Switch for the rest of this year and beyond. These include Return to Monkey Island, Harvestella (making Stardew Valley in Final Fantasy style) and the art monochrome adventure Blanc, to name a few.
