The original Han Solo blaster used by Harrison Ford in Star Wars: A New Hope is expected to fetch up to $500,000 (£410,000) when it goes up for sale later this month.
The prop firearm, previously missing and thought lost, has been rediscovered by Rock Island Auction Company (RIAC) and will be available in the company’s first auction.
The gun is the only surviving blaster left of the three used to film the original Star Wars trilogy, according to RIAC. The preliminary estimate for Han Solo’s BlasTech DL-44 Heavy Blaster is $300,000-$500,000.

The prop is based on the German-made Mauser C96, one of the first and most recognizable semi-automatic pistols ever made.
Wanting an old western shooter feel for the Millennium Falcon captain, the designers chose the Mauser C96 as the basis for Han Solo’s iconic blaster.
Star Wars Hollywood memorabilia has become highly sought after in the collectibles field. In 2018, Han Solo’s blaster from Return of the Jedi was sold to Ripley’s Believe it or Not! for $550,000. Most recently, an original miniature X-wing prop went for $2.3 million in June 2022.
