Steve McLaren will return to Manchester United this summer and he has already told the club that they have a player at their disposal with a perfect attitude.
Eric ten Haag will arrive at Old Trafford in the coming weeks and is eager to bring with him his former FC Twente mentor as part of his behind-the-scenes staff.
McLaren, 61, was Sir Alex Ferguson’s assistant between 1999 and 2001 and later led the England national team during their infamous failed qualifying campaign for EURO 2008.

Although his managerial reserves have declined in recent years, McLaren remains highly valued by the new United boss and can provide invaluable insights when he arrives at the club.
Speaking earlier this year, the former United assistant has given his sentence for the current team, and in particular he explained why midfielder Scott McTomney must play a key role in the future.
The Scottish international is divided over Old Trafford, but the new assistant coach believes that McTominey has all the key qualities of a good United player.
“You put him on the field and he introduces himself,” he told talkSPORT in January. “He is a Manchester United player, seven or eight out of ten every week. This makes him a Manchester United player.
“He breaks the game, he’s boxing, he has energy, attitude, he can handle the ball, he enters the penalty area and he can score goals, he does very well.”
