Former senior government official and diplomat Norman Spector shared a compelling article with me this weekend by Ottawa Citizen.
A family doctor in the national capital, Dr. Neely Kaplan-Mert, hoped to conduct mass vaccinations for people who wanted a fourth dose of COVID-19 but did not comply with Ontario rules.
She reportedly wanted to set up a large open-air Jabaluza clinic, but health officials refused to provide her with vaccines.
Ontario restricts access to fourth vaccines against COVID-19 to those 60 years of age or older.
In the Quebec neighborhood, people can get a fourth photo if they are 18 or older.
“I receive many individual requests for help,” Kaplan-Mert tweeted on Sunday (June 26th). “At the moment I can’t give you the vaccine, but the hands (and DM) if you as plaintiffs want to bring this to court as a group. You will need a litigation team.

There is a vast body of scientific evidence that COVID-19 vaccines reduce the severity of COVID-19. They reduce the likelihood of death or hospitalization from the disease.

However, the effectiveness of the vaccine against COVID-19 decreases over time. That’s why Kaplan-Myrth is such a strong advocate of booster injections. She believes that these boosters are especially important when so many people do not wear masks indoors.
Note that COVID-19 initially presents as a respiratory infection.
In some cases, however, it causes serious brain injuries and cardiovascular problems. This is especially dangerous for immunocompromised people who are at higher risk of severe COVID-19.
This is because the virus that causes COVID-19 not only damages blood vessels and causes blood clots, but also disrupts the immune system. Researchers have even linked immune dysfunction to serious brain injuries, which is explained in the video below.

BC doesn’t want most under 70s to get fourth shots
In the face of all this, BC continues to take a hard line on the distribution of the fourth doses of vaccine.
This is so even after Global News BC reporter Richard Zusman revealed that 226,000 doses intended for the hesitant vaccine will expire in late July.
In BC, you must be 70 years of age or older and have passed six months of a previous COVID-19 vaccine to qualify for the fourth dose.
There are exceptions: locals, for example, can receive a fourth dose if they are 55 or older.
Below you can read other exceptions listed by the BC Centers for Disease Control for those aged between 60 and 69 years.
The BC Centers for Disease Control listed those exceptions that qualify someone aged 60 to 69 for a fourth vaccine against COVID-19.
However, when Georgia Straight asked the Department of Health about who qualifies for a fourth vaccination against COVID-19, it did not include what was written after the letter “d”: “Caring for a frail adult or moderate to severely immunosuppressed person.”
So it remains unclear in British Columbia whether a person between the ages of 60 and 69 who cares for either a frail elderly person or a moderate to severely immunosuppressed person can receive a fourth vaccine against COVID-19.
Still, it seems pretty clear from the exceptions above that if you have had cancer or have kidney disease, or have heart disease, or have multiple sclerosis, or have had a transplant and are under 70 in BC, you will not qualify for fourth. COVID -19 vaccination according to existing rules.
Why is BC more restrictive with COVID-19 booster vaccines from Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan (where you only have to be 50+), and than the entire United States?
Health Minister Adrian Dix needs to clarify this.
What possible justification is there for stopping a fourth COVID-19 vaccine on British Colombians under the age of 70, especially those who are immune-compromised, when the 226,000 doses of the vaccine expire next month?
Why is Dix so convinced that he knows better than the governments of Ontario, Quebec and Saskatchewan?
We do not know the answer.
This is partly because our cowardly BC Liberal MLA refuses to hold the NDP provincial government accountable for its COVID-19 policies.
Some on social media speculate that the additional vaccines are being abstained as part of a population-based experiment – conducted without human consent – on the effectiveness of postponing second booster vaccines.
Dix and Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry, through their actions, provide oxygen to this hypothesis.

Who knows? There may even be a scientific justification for withholding booster injections.
But in the absence of evidence provided by the British Columbia government, the health minister must face the microphone on Monday (June 27th) and give a consistent explanation.
Failure to do so will only raise more suspicion about the motives behind government policy.
It may be worth noting that in January 2021, Science published a study of 188 people that offered a glimmer of hope.
He found that more than 95 percent of those recovered from COVID-19 had an immune system that displayed “lasting” memories of the virus for up to eight months.
This has sparked speculation on the National Institutes of Health’s website that the vaccinee’s immune system will have lasting memories of the virus.
But a study of 188 people is insufficient as a basis for a comprehensive policy throughout the province.
Some may wonder whether the government is not providing fourth doses of COVID-19 vaccines to those under the age of 70 because of the cost of distribution or because of labor shortages in the health sector.
Others may suspect that this is because the British Columbia government thinks everyone will get COVID-19 anyway, so why worry?
If this is the real reason, this is a monumental bear service for those with compromised immunity. This must require a response from Commissioner for Human Rights Cassari Govender, who goes beyond writing a letter to Henry. As conducting a public investigation under Art. 47.15 of the Air Force Code of Human Rights.
In the meantime, show us the evidence, Minister Dix, why so many British Colombians have been denied a fourth vaccine against COVID-19.
And if you don’t want to do that, please back off so that another health minister can do it for you.
