Here’s how you can dispose of your hazardous waste in Ottawa

The city of Ottawa gives you a chance to safely dispose of hazardous household waste in your home while you complete spring cleaning.

The first landfill for hazardous waste will be held on Sunday at Tunney’s Pasture from 8 am to 4 pm

Residents can safely dispose of hazardous household waste in landfills, including all kinds of corrosive, flammable and toxic items.

Hazardous household waste includes:

  • Aerosol containers
  • Propane bottles
  • Disinfectants
  • Fluorescent bulbs / tubes
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Fertilizers and pesticides
  • Mercury switches / thermometers
  • Machine oil
  • Needles and syringes
  • Oil filters
  • Pharmaceutical products
  • Paints and coatings
  • Oven and window cleaners
  • Chemicals for swimming pools
  • Gasoline
  • Perfume and aftershave

Rideau Carleton Raceway, Hard Rock Casino at 4837 Albion Road South

Sunday, June 26 – from 8 am to 4 pm

Canadian Tire Center – 200 Cyclone Taylor Boulevard

Sunday, July 10 – from 8 am to 4 pm

Conroy Snow Dump – 3100 Conroy Road

Sunday, August 7 – 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Ines snow dump – 2170 Mer Bleue Road

Sunday, August 28 – from 8 am to 4 pm

Trail Road Facility – 4475 Trail Road

Sunday, September 11 – from 8 am to 4 pm

Tuni’s pasture

Sunday, October 2 – from 8 am to 4 pm

Snow dump on Michael Street – 1465 Michael Street

Sunday, October 23 – from 8 am to 4 pm

Westbrook Snow Dump – 200 Westbrook Road
