Highway 3 is closed to traffic after an accident with a vehicle between exit 177 and First Avalanche Gate, about five kilometers east of Hope.
An assessment was made around 20:00
The movement to the east managed to pass over his shoulder.
DriveBC is expected to reopen at 11pm on Saturday.
