Former Dragons’ Den star Hilary Devey has died at the age of 65, her representatives have confirmed.
The businesswoman and entrepreneur died in Morocco on Saturday after a long illness. She was awarded the OBE for services in the transport industry and charity in 2013.
Among the tributes was one of her colleagues, former Dragon Theo Pafitis, who said he was “so sad to hear about the death of the beautiful Hilary Devi.”
He added: “She left all our fantastic memories, may she rest in peace. My thoughts are with her family. X “

In addition to appearing in Dragons’ Den, she also starred in the Channel 4 series The Trainee.
Her charitable work included her position as vice president of the Carers Trust and she was also a patron of the Stroke Association after she herself suffered a stroke in 2009.
She also appeared in The Business Inspector on Channel 5.

She made her fortune by starting a freight company, Pall-Ex, which, after selling her house and car to build, grew to a turnover of over £ 100 million.
Speaking in 2011, she said she was proud to “play my part” in supporting start-up entrepreneurs in the country.
She said: “I would love to stand before the Dragons and remember my own experience and the realities of doing business today as I choose to support – or reject – start-up entrepreneurs who join me in the Logo. ”
