A North Indiana pastor has been accused of having sex with a woman for years, starting when she was just a teenager.
Pastor John Lowe II admitted to his congregation at the New Life Christian Church and World Outreach in Warsaw on Sunday that he committed adultery nearly 20 years ago. Immediately after his confession, a woman stepped into the microphone and accused the pastor of taking away her virginity in his office when she was only 16 years old.
The exchange was recorded on video and has since gone viral online.
Lowe begins by saying, “I committed adultery. It was almost 20 years ago. It lasted too long. One person was involved and there was no other … I have no defense. I committed adultery.”

He claims that he did not give confessions all these years because he wanted to protect the victim and himself.
He asked his flock to forgive him for the “deep wound” he said he had caused.
“I confessed my sin to my wife and my family, whom I deeply hurt, and they forgave me mercifully and expressed their love for me,” he said.
Lowe announced his resignation from the ministry.
After Lowe finished speaking, his flock responded with a standing ovation.

An unidentified woman then picked up the microphone along with a man who introduced himself as her husband. The woman began:
“I lived in prison for 27 years. It wasn’t 20 years. I lived in a prison of lies and pain. A lie to protect the Lowe family. I thought I was a horrible person who had suicidal thoughts without realizing what had really been done to me. “
She said her older brother had recently confronted her about an incident he said he had witnessed when he was a teenager. She said he saw her in bed with their pastor in a T-shirt and underwear.

“People knew, but they were afraid to go out,” she said.
“I am no longer a prisoner,” she continued through tears. “I was only 16 when you took my virginity upstairs in your office. Do you remember this? I know you’re doing it… You’ve done things with my teenage body that never was and should never have been done… You’re not the victim here. “
The woman claims that she has been trying to tell someone for years, but no one wants to help her.
Eventually, several people made their way to the stage, including Lowe. The woman’s husband then picked up the microphone to face the pastor.
“It’s not just infidelity. It’s another level when he’s a teenager and I’m not going to let this man talk about my wife like that. It’s been going on for 9 years …. People need to be held accountable.” he said. “They can’t just fool people and say, ‘I just cheated.’ It was far beyond adultery. “
The congregation then called for answers from Lowe, who replied: “I told you I cheated. I told you it took too long. “
Lowe then admitted that he had sex with the woman when she was a teenager. Several members of the congregation then stepped forward and surrounded Lowe while another man prayed.
The New Life Christian Church and World Outreach issued a statement following the pastor’s confession and the woman’s allegations.

“As a result of what has now been revealed, we are hurt and broken for a woman who has lovingly attended and served in the church for many years, as well as for her husband and family,” the church said. “Our deepest prayer and commitment is to love, support, encourage and assist in the healing process in every way we can.”
The church also continued to support Lowe and his family.
“As healing takes place in their hearts, marriages and families, we are committed to demonstrating the same support, encouragement, counsel and forgiveness that have come to define the collective heart and ministry of this body,” the statement said.

The church confirmed that Lowe had resigned as pastor.
Kosciuszko District Prosecutor’s Office is investigating, WANE-TV reported. No charges have been filed so far.
