International tournaments – Scarlett and Divine win the U19 Euro!

Alfie featured in all five of England’s matches at the tournament, starting four of them, with one goal and two assists to his name.

The Dane made four starts after being rested for the group game against Israel, with England having already secured a place in the knockout stages, contributing two goals and an assist.

“As a club we are extremely proud of Alfie and Dane for their achievements at the tournament,” said Academy Manager Dean Rastrick. “For both players to go away with England, play the way they did and help their country win the trophy is great – it’s a big moment in their young careers and we’re very pleased for them. We hope they can now use this experience to their advantage as they continue to work hard and move forward.”

Ryan Sessegnon, then of Fulham, was part of the Young Lions team that won the European Under-19 Championship five years ago, along with our former Academy midfielder Marcus Edwards.

On the strength of their performances at this summer’s tournament, England have also qualified for the upcoming FIFA Under-20 World Cup.

Congratulations Dane and Alfie!
