Police in Ko Tyrone have launched a murder investigation after a woman’s body was found.
Detectives began their probe after the wreckage was found at a Ratheen Avenue house in Cookstown, Co Tryone, earlier today, Sunday, June 19th.
Detective Inspector Claire McGarvey said: “Police were called to the property shortly before 11 a.m., where the body of the 77-year-old woman was found inside.
“A 45-year-old man on the property has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
“I urge anyone who believes that there may be information that could help the police in the investigation to contact detectives from the main investigation team at the Cookstown Police Department at 101, citing reference number 630 19/06/22 .
“Alternatively, the information can be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous and gives people the strength to speak up and stop crime.
