IPhone 14 Pro models could obviously always have displays on

Upcoming iPhone 14 Pro models may always have displays on, according to a prominent analyst. Mark German of Bloomberg (opens in a new section) predicts that the two more premium iPhone models will display a limited amount of information on the screen, even when locked.

According to Gourmet, the feature will arrive as part of iOS 16, which Apple is due to present next week at WWDC (World Developers Conference).

The analyst believes that the technology will work just like the Apple Watch – phones will reduce the frame rate on the screen when locked to save battery while still showing some information. There is no word on what information will be displayed, but it is believed that these are things that are useful at a glance, such as battery life and life.

There is also no word on whether the iPhone 14 Pro models will use the same low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) display used in the Apple Watch.

Some Android phones have always had displays on for years – remember we tested the 2013 Motorola Moto X, which had this feature. More recently, the technology has been promoted through its use in Samsung phones.

If this rumor is true, this will be another feature that the iPhone 14 Pro models will offer compared to their cheaper, non-professional versions. It is also claimed that the Pro models have a new A16 processor, a new design with clippings and better cameras.
