James May has reportedly been rushed to hospital after his car crashed while filming Prime Video series The Grand Tour.
The former Top Gear presenter was said to be filming a drag race when the incident happened.
He was reportedly rushed to hospital following the incident, but has since been given the all-clear after being treated for a broken rib and undergoing a brain scan.
According to the report in The Sun, the incident happened during a challenge in which May, along with presenters Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond, drove cars through a tunnel towards a rock wall at a Norwegian naval base.
The accident is said to have been caused by a fault in the tunnel lights which caused May to stop later than necessary while driving at 75mph.
Filming was reportedly halted but resumed after a few days.
The Independent has contacted representatives for May and the show’s production company for comment.
The accident is not the first car accident to happen behind the scenes of The Grand Tour.
In 2017, Hammond was involved in a serious crash while traveling at 319 mph.
After the front right tire failed, the car overturned, damaging Hammond’s eye and requiring it to be cut out with hydraulic shears. He was taken to hospital where he was in a coma for two weeks and later suffered from post-traumatic amnesia and a five-second memory loss.
