Jan. 6 Committee Says Pat Cipollone’s Testimony Corroborates All Big Bombshells From Cassidy Hutchinson

Former Trump lawyer Pat Cipollone’s taped testimony before the committee from Jan. 6 is expected to be aired publicly on Tuesday, and a committee member said it will support some of the biggest bombshells from the hearings so far. Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) told NBC News that Cipollone did not disagree with other witnesses. “Cipollone confirmed almost everything we learned from the previous hearings,” Raskin said. “I certainly didn’t hear him contradict Cassidy Hutchinson … He had an opportunity to say whatever he wanted, so I didn’t see any contradiction there.” Hutchinson was a surprise witness who dropped several bombshells about Trump’s actions on Jan. 6, including that he allegedly grabbed a Secret Service agent by the throat and tried to take control of the steering wheel of the president’s SUV as he sought to be driven to the Capitol. It was unclear Tuesday morning whether Cipollone was asked directly about any part of Hutchinson’s testimony.
