Johnny Depp’s star lawyer Camille Vazquez is celebrating victory in a lawsuit that catapulted her to fame.
Ms. Vazquez, who quickly became a source of internet fascination in the process, hugged her colleagues after winning her client’s defamation bomb case against his ex-wife Amber Heard.
Speaking in front of the Virginia Courthouse, Ms. Vazquez emphasized her attachment to her client by a movie star who was so palpable during the trial that she even sparked – albeit completely unfounded – love rumors.
“Today’s verdict confirms what we said from the beginning – that the allegations against Johnny Depp are defamatory and unsupported by any evidence,” she said.
“We are grateful, so grateful to the jury for their careful discussion.”
Mr Depp won his case against Mrs Hurd after a six-week televised trial.
Ms. Hurd was sentenced to pay the actor $ 15 million in damages, but the jury also awarded her $ 2 million for part of her own counterclaim.

Google Trends, a tool provided by Google to measure the popularity of various search terms over time, shows that interest in searching for the word “Camille Vasquez” increased from May 16 to 18.
On May 18, a TMZ photographer asked Vazquez about online rumors that she and Depp might be dating. Vazquez laughed and refused to answer. TMZ previously reported that the rumors were false and the two “definitely do not meet”, citing “sources related to Camille Vazquez”.
Following the verdict, Ms. Hurd issued a statement saying she was “heartbroken.”
