One of the biggest questions surrounding the commission’s January 6 hearings this month is whether Donald Trump’s most loyal supporters would ever get involved, let alone be open to seeing him in a new light. Only Jordan Clapper of The Daily Show had the idea to bring the hearings to them.
On his last departure from MAGA, Clapper travels to Trump’s rally in Mississippi to find out first if anyone waiting to come in has watched the hearings and then play some of the most horrible videos on the iPad and see what happens. are made them.
Not surprisingly, he could not find anyone to watch the trial, including a woman in a red visor with Trump who insisted on an “investigation” to prove her theory that Nancy Pelosi was behind the uprising.
Another pair of young women didn’t even know what Clapper was talking about when he mentioned January 6th. “Election Day?” One of them asked. They seemed similarly unfamiliar with the term “uprising.”
Clapper began by showing Trump supporters a video of former Trump Attorney General Bill Barr calling it “nonsense” about allegations of stolen elections. Their only explanation for his decision to “include” Trump is that he was paid to lie.
He then asked the same women, who knew nothing about January 6, if they “trusted” Ivanka Trump. When they said yes, he showed them the video in which she agreed with Bar’s assessment. After he slowly explained to them what they had just seen, they simply did not want – or could not – see the “Big Lie” as it is.
“It doesn’t even look like her,” another man replied. “What do they have, clones there these days?” This could be a clone! “
“It’s almost as if you’re facing him and your brain is somersaulting to understand, there must be some other reason!” Clapper replied with a laugh.
