Canadian musician Justin Bieber says he has postponed his next few concerts because he suffers from facial paralysis.
In a video posted on Instagram on Friday, Bieber said he suffers from Ramsey Hunt syndrome, which causes paralysis.

Bieber said it was caused by a virus that attacks the nerves in his ear and face.
According to the Mayo Clinic, Ramsey Hunt syndrome occurs when an outbreak of shingles affects the facial nerve near one of your ears.
“In addition to the painful herpes zoster rash, Ramsey Hunt syndrome can cause facial paralysis and hearing loss in the affected ear,” the Mayo Clinic website said.

Bieber said he suffered from “complete paralysis” on one side of his face.

“As you can see that this eye does not blink, I can’t smile on this side of my face, this nostril will not move,” he said in the video.
The news comes just days after Bieber’s Justice Tour announced that two shows at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto and a show in Washington will be postponed due to a “non-COVID-related illness.”

In a video on Friday, Bieber said he was “simply physically incapable” of participating in the show.
“It’s pretty serious, as you can see,” he said. “I wish it weren’t so, but obviously my body is telling me I need to slow down.”

Bieber said he would use the time to “rest and relax and return to 100 percent.”
The singer said he was doing facial exercises to help “get my face back to normal”, adding that he would “get back to normal”.
“I love you boys,” he said. “Thank you for being patient with me.”
